Received a call from Tourism Malaysia (so she claimed) today. I was told I've won hotel vouchers to either Langkawi, Penang, or Cameron Highlands. My choice, they say.
This lady, who sounds irritated, by the way, says Maxis and Tourism Malaysia are under a joint venture and has selected 300 numbers under Maxis's postpaid and prepaid plans in random. No timesharing, hidden charges and shit.
My number was selected.
I don't trust anyone calling me saying that I've won something. Especially when these competitions or activities aren't highlighted in newspapers, catalogues or their brochures. I asked the very exasperated lady (probably because she has been calling 200 over numbers before me and she called me twice before this) about the highlighting thing, and she said they didn't want to because there are so many numbers out there, millions, to choose from and only 300 were selected blah blah blah.. Care about their feelings she says.

Then they ask if you are married, if you have a boyfriend (??!!).. Ya, so I cut her off after that question 'cause I got suspicious and all.
I asked for her office address. I was planning on going down there with Mama (Mama is always the person you'd like to bring along to check for authenticity). The lady said Bandar Sunway and started launching into the Oh-you-don't-trust-this conversation again.
I got irritated, so I hung up and switched off my phone.

hey,i received that call too..on tee yoong's birthday that time..wanted to tell u on that day itself,but forgotten about it...one guy called n talk about they randomly select 200 of maxis number...i wanted to say i am not interested...but before i could say that he asked how old am i?i said i am still a student and 18...and he said,oo,btw,it is for above 27yrs old..maybe 10 years later u'll be chosen again..i was like..cha dou!!
