ROAR (for Animal Rights): In My Eyes Only - Day 2 (Part 1)

14th June, 2007

9.10am: Left for MidValley for a film workshop.

*GASP* The directors are oozing with HOTNESS!! (In person la.. Don't know if you can see it through a picture.)

Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom

You can see pictures of them in person in Hwey's blog.

Shit. This Boyfriend Deficiency (BD) thing is getting to me. (I'm putting it as BD because it seems more appropriate than Male Campanion or Male Friend Deficiency. I have male friends, you know? Just not a boyfriend. Who even "invented" the word boyfriend, anyway?! It feels so weird to say it.)

Anyway, during the photo opp, I had this brilliant idea.

Because both directors, Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom's debut feature film was Shutter (2004).

And now, Alone (2007)

So considered famous la, because of their work.

The idea was to let the directors express their opinions about animal rights. So our Person-in-charge-of-VIPs, Noura and I borrowed Mr Lecturer's videocam. Walked up to the Banjong and Parkpoom. And asked them.

And there they were, speaking so passionately and with oomph!.... in Thai.

("-_-)

NO! No ("-_-)!

*cue dramatics*

There's the beauty of it! They shouldn't appear too globalized, having a translator speaking English and all. They are representing Thailand, a part of the world, in our event!

*end dramatics*

Moreover, they'll appeal to the Thai students.

Wariao.. I can sooo bull, man..

Parkpoom and Banjong were great sports. Taking photos and giving autographs to endless lines of aspiring filmmakers (and our college lecturers), answering our questions and agreeing to be filmed.

Talented young directors (BP - 27 & PP - 28!) with two great features! I'm not just saying this.

Go watch Alone. Premieres 21 June, 2007. Really good. Although I covered my eyes at the parts where the ghost appears.
