Why this, not that.

I was taking a shower, and I had a thought. That's where I do my thinking. And that's why this blog is called 'Out From the Toilet', for those who don't know.

Later on, I realised that the name sounds a bit wrong. 'Toilet' isn't exactly the appropriate term. But what the hell. It's "established", in a way.

Back to my thoughts.

I was looking at my shower gel.

Need to restock liao.

And I wondered why roses represent relationships. Or LOVE. Why not tulips?? They're nice looking and sweet, too.

Then I thought, "Ah. Must be the swirly pattern the petals make. So pretty." I like'em. Why wouldn't the other *6,599,999,999 inhabitants of planet Earth? (* As of 2006)

Or it could be capitalism. Some dude, or dudette decides to market a really good-looking flower and push it as a product that symbolises love and beauty. Everybody falls in love with it and each other and WHAM!, ka-ching.

Actually, that's pure poo. It's not true. =)

After Wiki-ing it, I found that the symbolisation is ancient. Long, long time ago. It represents love and beauty. Like cats, hairless or creepy-looking, whom (should it be who?) were sacred in Egypt, roses were "sacred" to goddesses as well. Just a couple.

I don't know where they get the meanings of the other roses, but apparently it's from this guy called Rosenberg.

HAhAhaHAHAhaHa. Boy, was that lame. =P

No, it's not Rosenberg. It's Robert Bangert. The "Language of Flowers", or floriography. Oh. And hey! Tulips are about love, too. I didn't know that. Interesting.

And why are flowers getting more and more expensive anyway?? Especially roses.

What is with these people. You can't even buy flowers for the sake of making your house look nice and smell flower-y. And it's so expensive during special occasions.. Jebus.

I think 'toilet' actually means the throne right? haha. Anyway yes, it is now 'well-established' liao :p

Roses are nothing more than a money-making tool nowadays!

Baby_On_Board: What texture?? You mean the gel?? I like it a lot la. Initially I bought it because of me having eczema. Then I liked it a lot because of the not-too-strong scent.

Narrowband: Yes! And a very unique name at that too. =)
