The only promotional pens I like using are the ones from Marriot, Ibis Cikarang and Genting. Genting best la actually. =) Not too smooth, not too hard. Just nice.

The manufacturer deserves credit.
Just one thing. If they had a rubber grip, that would be better. =) I write hard. So my middle finger has a bump near the tip. A rubber grip would help, I think.
