Konnichiwa from Japan

Hello, all.

I'm at my aunt's now. WoOooO! I'm blogging from Japan. haHa. But I'm itching and super dry right now. Samoi (cold)!! It's not all that glamorous.

Things I've noticed during my tour:

Japanese are VERY polite; law-abiding; cheerful (a majority); helpful; eat ice cream when it's 10 over degrees; love to dress up; not afraid of the cold; buy a lot of boots; have children at a young age; variety shows are funny even if I don't understand a thing; and their stuff ain't that expensive if you DON'T convert.

I've been learning Japanese from the signboards while on the road to places of interests. Like the Chinese character 'new' is pronounced as shin. Guchi is 'mouth'. Bashi is 'bridge'. So I can more or less make out the Japanese pronunciation for the name of places. But then today I found out that 'bridge' can be hashi as well.

That's what's complicated about Japanese.

Moving on!

We went to Universal Studios Japan. Hwey & I had so much spare time before meeting everyone on the bus, mainly because there were so many people there. On a Monday!!! They even had to queue up just to have lunch. And I mean ALL the restaurants.

Disneyland wasn't too bad. We went on a Friday, Halloween, so you could see Disney characters walking everywhere. One was very sexy. She was armed with a push-up bra and a short, super low-cut, green dress with wings. Tinkerbell. =)

We went to a couple of shrines and temples. Those were good. I seem to enjoy the ones where you're required to move from place to place. Sit bus fun wert. HAhAHa. We also went to Hakone. That's where Mt. Fuji is. The hotel we stayed in was super duper great. So pretty!! Serious. I can see my wedding there. hAHAh. But a bit choong pei to fly relatives and friends there la.

Plug a bit first. It's called Jiragonno No Fuji Yakata. Should be in that order. It's like a cabin, but really big. The interior is beautiful. Even their yukata is nice. Best hotel out of the five.

Here, the hotels provide shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and facial wash. Toothbrushes, an occasional comb, and a yukata. Basically, if you're staying the night. You can just bring the clothes on your back. Plus credit card or cash.

By the way, it was 8'C at the hotel, which is below the mountain, and 6'C up at the fifth station (2k plus metres) of Mt. Fuji. Sickeningly cold. First time I experienced vapour when talking. =) That was kinda cool. hAHa.

We were well taken care of during the tour. Good hotels and food. I think I've packed on a kilogramme or two around the middle. Makes me want to come back for more hotels. But quite expensive la.

Oh oh oh! The Shinkansen is no big deal. It's only fun to watch when you're NOT in it. Super fast lo. 270km/hr.

We also went to Kabuki-cho, the Red Light District in Shinjuku. A LOT of pimps in suits lo. They had a place giving massages to foreigners. Guaranteeing a relaxing time. Somebody said, "Yeah right."

I can't do a lot of shopping here because the styles here are not what I normally wear. So how to buy clothes or anything?? So I shop for small-things or food. Like interesting looking cookies, accessories or keyrings. Stuff like that. But my aunt introduced us to a few shops that are REALLY cheap. So can take a look la.

Sleepy liao. Going to a flea market tomorrow. And perhaps visit the Meiji temple, and then to Harajuku. Or was it Shibuya..

You got to experience the toilet in shinkansen.

There are alot of stuff to see in Shibuya and Shinjuku.

For weekend, it is recommended to go to Harajuku to see some freak Japanese.

Yup it's samui but then when you're pronouncing it it's not so obvious anyway. Shibuya, you must take a pic at that hachiko crossroad ok. Like loads of pic.

You went to so many other places I didn't :( Traveled kilometers between Tokyo and Osaka on the Shinkansen! Nice!

Harajuku during weekends quite freaky lol. Check out Yokohama and Odaiba, both preferably go at night. Lovely night scenery and atmosphere. Not sure about autumn tho...

Hey, could u do me a favor when u're there in Japan please, please, pretty pleaseeeeeeeeeee?

There's a figurine that I've been looking for but is out of stock in Malaysia. Apparently the production of this figurine has been discontinued, so chances of it being sold in Malaysia is nada. Could u, if u happen to see figurine shops (which is pretty popular) during ur journey, help me get this figurine?

http://www.foobarbaz.jp/figure/review2008/f_alter_alice/

There are fakes also so unless it's on discount, this doll should cost around 7000yen.

Will pay u back. But if u're short of cash there for the time being, I can transfer the cash through PayPal to u.

FuyoOOOooOh.. Very pretty figurine. I'll try to look around, but do you know where I can find them? Like in which area that you know of. Cause I've only seen the carved japanese dolls. And don't tihnk PayPal is good for me anymore, cause I can't withdraw or anything. But we'll see if can get it first la. =)

YA! The figurine is VERY CUTE!!!!! Ee... Apparently anime stuff like this can be easily found in Akihabara (I have no idea where that is). Not sure about other places. I let my hubby do more researching first then will get back to u ASAP! Thanks ya!

Oh. We haven't been to Akihabara yet. Going one of these days.

My aunt searched Amazon Japan and came up with this, http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B001D0R6V2/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en%5FJP

It has a cat instead of the caterpillar.
