Finding property in Malaysia

This is related to the 'Renting out your home' article, but I'm not going to lump it together la. Because this site sama gang with caribilik.my.

Except this site is different.. -ish.

Propwall.my (Prop) is a Malaysia property (Malaysian property?) website where selling and renting of the WHOLE UNIT goes. Caribilik (Cari), as its name suggests, goes for ROOM rentals.

At least Prop doesn't include ads by seekers. Thank goodness.

Actually hor, I noticed that the properties listed are pretty high-end. Lots of high-rises and pretty houses in expensive areas. It feels like it's a platform to sell luxury property.. They don't just have houses, but offices and factories as well. Even the factories look pretty.

Did I mention? That two parties were bidding for a factory in a pretty remote area in one auction I went to. One purchaser looked like a white-collar dude acquiring factories for the company to do whatever. The other one ah, huh, a lil dodgy.. They actually pushed the price up by, if I remember correctly, RM400k plus and got it. Of course, not after trying to outbid each other several times. They were THAT desperate to have it.

Tip: Condos can be rented out at a high price. Yes. But it costs two bombs to buy and maintain. AND. New condos are being built here and there, so if they get the chance, tenants will most likely go for the new ones.

Prop has a Classifieds section, gallery, and a forum (seen as tabs at the top). They group ads by property name. Like this:

By the way, when investing in property, don't limit yourself to houses only. Shops and factories are pretty awesome to have. They not only give you higher rental income, but can be long term if you have the right location and tenant.

I think propwall is pretty good to have as a reference, if it's in your price range la. Make use of the forums. You can learn about the rental yield at certain locations. That'll give you an idea of the situation in the area. Some also talk about the financial goings-on which is good for property owners. I think so.

AND! A few days ago, the news reported that real estate is going up by 10% in 2010! You say you should invest anot!?
