Start boiling your kitchen sponges!

Did I mentioned that I wanted two sinks in my kitchen in the future? Or at least have a large deep sink? Actually my current permanent address has two sinks la. But it's not really my house..

Anyway, I was watching this Mythbusters episode yesterday and it was saying that there are other nastier nasties around us than the toilet seat. Rank #1 was the kitchen sponge. With 'off the charts' bacteria growth.

But I'm wondering if our sponge here is as dirty as the sample they used. Haha. We wash the sponge clean of food that we can see and then squeeze the sponge dry and let you air dry. Ya, I know. Still dirty. Still have to kill germs.

We're paranoid-ish already la. I said run the sponge under really hot water, but Hwey thought that the water won't be hot enough to kill germs, so she suggested to spray alcohol on the damn thing.
