Frilly or no-frills?

When I was younger, IKEA used to send these super thick catalogues that I would happily look through. Looking at bedroom sets, outdoor furniture, kitchen sets, couches, light fixtures, and all.

Now the catalogues are supermarket-catalogue thin and I only look at the bedroom sets. I feel that they're going on the no-frills path. They sell you the basic stuff (i.e., skeleton/cupboard) and then you have to pay to add the rest (i.e., drawers, extra hanging bars)

It feels expensive. I don't know la. After realising that, I figured I won't be buying furniture from IKEA. Maybe just the feather pillows. They smell, but they're better than Tesco.
