Post GC concert

First off, Malaysians seem to be a bunch of people who are the syok sendiri type.

Nothing, scream. Camera, scream. Lights, scream.

But it doesn't matter, they were just excited. Right?

So we arrived at the scene at... 5 something.

Waited for what seemed like a lifetime. I don't know how I did it. I'm not the type of person who likes to wait.

Saw a bunch of people there.

Dear ol' Mui Yit, Kar Fai, Thong Siang, Rasyad, Petrina, Zuraini, Ashvin, and.... can't remember.. They were all there.

Saw VJs Colby and Denise, kinkybluefairy and AdamC there too. Thought I saw smashpOp, too. But I could be wrong.

The gates finally opened and we had to wait for another hour or two.

They made us watch MTV while waiting!

Anyway, the thing started at I don't know what time. When the VJs started talking, everyone became so physical. They started pushing and pushing... It was shit.

It settled eventually.

From where we stood, we were about... maybe 20m (I'm not very good at estimating distance) away from the stage. I could see the faces on stage pretty well. We were just behind the VIP section, which was well ventilated and frickin' spacious compared to the regular section.

Those people you see huddling there, they're in the VIP section.

The supporting acts were brought out one by one, each performing 5 songs.

Trivia: Estranged filmed their music video for Itu Kamu in Lecture Hall E, KDU. The song is good, too.

Jason Lo performed, as well as One Buck Short. They were all good.

The girls behind us were getting frustrated that Good Charlotte wasn't coming out yet.

They started whining. So I rolled eyes at everything they said.

Anyway, I spent the night being pushed around and towered over by tall people. Oh, not to forget, my left bum being molested, too. At one point.. no, maybe three points, the valves were moving in between my legs. Sick...

Damn culprits.

One of those tall people included Mr Mikel Lian @ splashmilk. In fact, he was standing beside me until a bunch of people started moving out. In the process, one of them stomped on my toe (It still hurts).

After all the pushing and shoving, everyone's (at least the people around me la) position changed; splashmilk stood in front of me and two guys who were 20 feet tall stood on my left and behind me. I couldn't see a thing.

But whatever, I had a big screen planted right in my face. Actually, no. splashmilk was so tall, I had to move to see the screen. Which means blocking Hwey's view.

It was also stuffy and the air smelt like a cosmetics company had just blown a whole tank of foundation and the scent was wafting in the air. It was a very warm smell. Mixed with a little sweat.

Joel Madden talked about wanting to move to Malaysia and he needed a bunch of people to be his friends, be his tutor (For Malay), replace his band and brother and all that.

It worked really, really well on the crowd. Great script.. *clapclapclap*

One thing though, their live performance was great. Sounded just like the damned CD.. But it wasn't the CD la..

All in all, the performances were great. Good Charlotte played about 12 or 13 songs.

100 points to the bands and 40 points to the organizers.

The whole standing shit really sucks for me. We stood for like, 7 hours. Felt like I was in an orgy.

The organizers made one mistake too. A very big one. They didn't inform the LRT/RapidKL authorities that they needed them to extend the hours. Therefore, the gates were semi-closed on us. Last train was at 11.45pm and it only stops till Chan Sow Lin.

(The personnel were compassionate enough to hold the gate open for some people.)

We made it anyway.

This leads me to another matter.

Why is it so hard to get Dad to come pick us up when the LRT wasn't operating anymore?

It was so *explicit* hard.

I don't understand him. Everything has to be convenient for him. Everything.

Well, I don't think I'm too keen on going for another concert like this.

Even if I do, I'll try to secure VIP tickets. Less crowded..
