*blink blink*
... and breathe, just breathe- Anna Nalick, Breathe (2am) lyrics.
woah breathe, just breathe,
oh breathe, just breathe.
I was going through some assignments. And I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm feeling really miserable and very.... what's that word...
*Snaps fingers repeatedly*
I don't even know what's it called in English. There's injustice lar. It's probably called grievance.
I don't care if YOU are reading this. At least you know how I feel.. Actually you already do.
For those of you who don't know, the twins are plagued with bad luck when it comes to doing group projects that require 3 or more group members. We end up doing the most work and, if I dare say, contribute the most. (But it's also our fault that we contribute the most lar..)
Read on.
* Disclaimer: the 'You's, 'Your's, 'We's and 'Us's are in general terms. Not meant to refer to anyone in specific. Most of the 'You's, 'Your's, 'We's and 'Us's lar.. All in all, this is meant for both of you. Just because you are the only one in the group reading this, doesn't mean I'm hantam-ing only you.
I know that the twins appear to be very, extremely, exceedingly dominant when we do work. I could blame it on us being perfectionists, (Which I really think is the problem.) but some may find it implausible. But if we don't pinpoint it on us, then it would appear as if it's OTHER PEOPLE'S fault. (Part of the problem, really.)
Let's talk about how we ended up where we are now.
I've analyzed it from different POVs. Well, because, that's what I do best. I'm damn analytical.
We'll take a look from the POV where the all fingers are pointed at us, the twins.
First, we're too dominant @ Head Konchos, as already mentioned above. We probably are the most vocal ones during discussions. Also, I suppose we have an existing idea of how we want the subject to turnout, though Hwey doesn't quite agree with me, so it seems evident that we are blasting our group mates' ideas into outer space and never to be seen again. Everything, as in content, is just US, US, US!!
However, content was suggested by everyone. In the end, we vote which is the best.
Two, we could be too harsh in terms of rejecting ideas. I believe both of us are practical. We want reasons. No reason, no can do. I personally believe (nothing to do Hwey) that what we include in our content has to be appropriate with the times, the people, the everything.
If now we talk about catering to the older generation, then put anything that would make them reminisce and all that, things that they would like. If you personally like something and really want to include it in somewhere, give a reason. Something worthy and something that makes sense.
I understand that English is not your main language, or mother tongue, whatever you want to call it. If so, explain it to us in Mandarin. And if you can't find the right words to explain, think it over long and hard. Find your points, then present. Yes, this may take up a lot of time, and Hwey would probably hate that A LOT, but we find it crucial to know every one's opinions and reasons.
If you feel so strongly for your choice, then defend it well.
*Goodness, I almost forgotten what my main point was.*
When we find reasons that are inappropriate or not strong enough, we 'shoot down' your ideas. Maybe we're too direct, or too blunt.. So it feels like, "I don't like you and all your ideas are going down, baby!!!!"
We didn't meant it to sound that way. Please do understand.
We give reasons on why we reject your ideas (Again, I'd like to stress, nothing here is aimed at a specific person). It's up to you to persist, to pitch the idea if you really think it would be for the better.
